Providing shelter and
support to those in need
Kyabra inPlace appreciates your donations to assist us in delivering supports and services to individuals and families in need. Your donations go directly to people accessing our service, through the provision of items such as furniture, linen and household items, children’s items such as school uniforms and materials, and school events.
IN OUR EVENTS
Kyabra inPlace hosts multiple fundraisers through the year, so that we can continue providing a service that is focused on social inclusion and addressing disadvantage in the communities we serve. Additionally, the service holds events to raise awareness and provide education about homelessness, gendered violence and social disadvantage.
Kyabra inPlace offers a range of professional supports and services to address homelessness and domestic violence in our community, and partners with government bodies, the not-for-profit sector and the community to provide these services. Additionally, we provide emergency relief services to assist with basic needs.
Kyabra and InPlace are now working together
As you may be aware, Lions inPlace and Kyabra Community Association have been in discussions around our shared mission and values and the potential benefit to the sector should we merge organisations.
Established in 1979, InPlace has delivered Homelessness and Domestic and Family Violence Services in the Sunshine Coast Region, providing quality services and supports with the assistance of our valued partners in the community, and with the support of Lions Clubs from Districts 201Q3 and 201Q4.
Since 1976, Kyabra has been supporting vulnerable children and families by delivering quality practice and services. It is known for its strong governance and management systems and provides a range of services including Homelessness, Family Support, Foster and Kinship Care and Disability Support.
The work of the InPlace Lions Project will be enhanced by this partnership with Kyabra Community Association. The benefits will flow to vulnerable families and children by combining our respective strengths and commitment to fair and safe communities. It will also provide new opportunities for Lions Members across Districts to continue to contribute to these community services.
Both organisations have now satisfactorily completed due diligence processes and from 1st July 2018, we look forward to coming together and continuing to contribute to vulnerable families and children in our region.
Kyabra inPlace recognises and supports the full self-determination of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. As a service, we resist colonising practices that reinforce racism and white privilege and prioritise authentic partnerships with the traditional owners of the lands across the communities we serve.
